VISION: The vision of world-class education by KWASU has been adapted
to reflect the Early Childhood and Primary Education philosophy as seen below.
The overall goal of the Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and Primary Education
program at Kwara State University is to prepare teachers who will provide quality,
developmentally appropriate early childhood and primary education programs for young children
and will continue to progress along a path toward excellence in professional growth and development.
The Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education is domiciled in the Faculty of Education of Kwara State University, Malete. It is one of the four pioneering departments in the Faculty and it is out to translate the vision of the university. i.e. 'The Green University for Community Development and Entrepreneurship’ into reality. The courses taken by students in this program shall be put into practice in the community schools in the host communities of the University.

We also take a scholarly approach by managing the Journal of Early Childhood and Primary Education, a renowned platform for sharing insights, theories, and best practices in the field. Moreover, we offer Master's and Doctoral programs in Early Childhood and Primary Education to empower educators and researchers with advanced knowledge and expertise. Through our program, we aim to produce influential leaders who will drive positive changes in educational practices and policies.
In line with our commitment to collaboration and knowledge exchange, we organize a biennial conference on early childhood and primary education.

Usman Tunde SAADU (Ph.D)
The Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education at KWASU has made remarkable achievements since its establishment. These achievements encompass various aspects, such as the creation of Gaa-lanu Primary School, renowned for its dedication to delivering high-quality education and employing innovative teaching methods. Moreover, the department initiated the Journal of Early Childhood and Primary Education, a prestigious platform for disseminating knowledge and promoting information sharing. Additionally, they introduced Master's and Doctoral programs that have attracted passionate educators and researchers from diverse backgrounds. The department's biennial conference on early childhood and primary education has effectively facilitated global collaboration and the exchange of knowledge among scholars, educators, and policymakers. Moving forward, the department remains committed to pursuing excellence, fostering innovation, fostering collaboration, and contributing to the advancement of early childhood and primary education. With a solid foundation built on these accomplishments, we have full confidence that the department will continue to inspire and shape young minds, leaving a lasting impact on the field of education. In another endeavor, the department supplied teaching and learning materials (TLMs) to the Seventh Day Adventist School in Shao, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State. This initiative aimed to enhance the educational experience of students and support effective teaching practices in the school. Furthermore, in November 2020, the department initiated a Community Water Project titled "Providing Drinkable and Hygienic Water for Alapo Community" in Malete, Kwara State. The project aimed to ensure the availability of clean and safe drinking water for the community, thereby promoting health and hygiene among its residents. Additionally, the department conducted sensitization programs for parents, teachers, and students in the Malete community, Kwara State, regarding the detrimental effects of drug abuse. This effort aimed to raise awareness and educate the community about the risks associated with drug abuse, emphasizing the importance of prevention and intervention strategies. Overall, these initiatives reflect the department's dedication to making a positive impact beyond academic settings, addressing societal needs, and fostering well-rounded development in the communities it serves.
